NACLO 2022 - Problem JSounds Fishy

Here are the expected pronunciations vs. actual pronunciations. I'm using the same vowels as presented in the dataset, because these are not IPA but may affect our analysis.

Finally just a few random changes—for example, delete "w" from coda; syllabic "l" become "uw" or "u"; "mp" becomes "n".

Now we can apply these five rules: rhotacism, "s" deletion, onset and coda modification, and random changes, to the data.

Next, we are doing the reverse in J2. The major changes here are the simplifications in onset and coda, in which most of the place and manner of articulation is lost. Just use imagination to fill in the blanks, since at least we know the vowels, and we do know roughly the place (labial, coronal, velar) of the consonants.
